 Hi Dear Crafters,

Today I am sharing a DIY on how to make a simple and colorful CD cover with changeable label.
You might be wondering who listens to CD these days. But its not only about audio CDs. You might be having movie DVDs or video CDs at your place.

Having a uniform size CD covers for all CDs makes it easy to store and organize them. With different size and materials of covers, its very difficult to store them.

We use audio CDs to listen to music.Generally, we buy music from iTunes and then write it on a CD.There is vast difference between music from ipod/iphone and CD player. CD player gives you the best results if played along with speakers.

Okay, lets get started.

cd covers with changeable label

You can make this with materials easily available at your home. Construction paper/scrapbook paper, white glue, OHP sheet, 3D tape and materials shown as below

You can use below template for making a CD cover. All the measurements are in Centimeters.

Cut the construction paper as per the template and fold it at the places as shown.

Apply glue where 'X' is marked and fold. Press the folds with bone folder or anything flag.

Now, use the scrapbook paper, and cut 2 pieces of 12*12 cm and one piece of 4*12 cm.

Stick the scrapbook paper to your earlier made cover using white glue. Your CD should fir exactly in this pocket.

To make pocket for label. Take cardstock of any colour of your choice. Cut it with measurements as 9*4 cm. Also cut OHP sheet with same measurement. Stick OHP sheet to your label holder. Now, if you have thick 2-way tape, use it like below.Keep one end open to slide label inside.

Take white card stock of 8*2 cm to write down the CD name that you are going to put in this cover.

And..thats it! I have made different colour covers for different genre of music CD.

You can also make changeable label pocket of big size so as to keep may be list of songs that the CD will Play. You can come up with different ideas. But remember that, uniformity is the key to good looks and great organization.

Cheers,
Pooja

Yet another wine bottle decoration

11:45:00 PM Pooja 0 Comments

Hello friends,

Today I am going to show you yet another way of decorating wine bottle using thread and glue and little stuffs here and there lying around in my house

I started decorating this bottle by winding thread around it. After its completely done, I applied primer and then white acrylic emulsion paint. I prefer applying primer for two things:

1. It makes your surface ready to paint. It acts as a base for your paint
2. It give more sturdiness to the object and paint does not peel off if primer is applied

I have kept this bottle along with my mixed media painting. They look gorgeous together on my kitchen platform.

This was one the project that I did not planned for and impulsively went ahead with it. I have used pink and white only, to keep it towards softer shade. 'Smile' is just an expression that I want my art to remind everyone in the home. Similarly, 'Dream'. They are positive expressions to have around in your house.

My intention of the post is to give you different ideas on how you can decorate your home with small things lying around at your place instead of buying expensive stuff. After all 'handmade' is 'handmade'!

There are many Wine bottle decoration ideas on my blog which you can go through. They are simple and adorable.

Hope you all have a great weekend ahead.

Cheers,
Pooja

Treasure Box - Decoupage

1:43:00 AM Pooja 0 Comments

Hello there my dear crafters,

Sorry for the long wait.It took me long time to think about how would I decoupage the mdf box gifted by Hobby Ideas India to me. I had few animal printed decoupage papers. However, I was not sure how would I go about it.

I chose to go with Zebra print paper. The first step was to cover the box with primer. The second step was to apply white wash to entire box.Hobby ideas Heritage mod podge was fun to use, very smooth and no mess.

The basic decoupage was very simple and quickly done. Then I decide to create these small petal shaped using Fevicryl clay and decoupaged using the same zebra print cover. These are then put into jewelry making beads and string.

I hope you all like the idea of beaded and decoupaged petals around the box. It gives another look to the box altogether.

You can check out my other decoupage projects here.

Cheers,
Pooja
